You’re in the right place!
I personally think that when you go away as a couple, it’s nice to treat yourself to a more luxurious hotel – especially if you’re celebrating something like an anniversary! That said, if you’re saving up or on a tighter budget, it’s sensible to stick with more affordable options.
From the sparkling skylines over the River Thames to the buzzing nightlife of Shoreditch, there are so many hotel options for couples visiting London. As a travel blogger based in London, I’ve had the honour of trying different hotels for romantic staycations.
So in this post I’ve rounded up the best hotels for young couples in London, organised by cost: Bougie, Boutique, and Budget.
All of these hotels have a great vibe in a great location for sightseeing or experiencing culture – the perfect ingredients for a couples getaway!
Best Hotels In London For Young Couples: What Area Should You Stay In?
You might be wondering where young couples should stay when visiting London. The answer is, anywhere close to a tube station! London is packed with different neighbourhoods that offer different things. As long as you can easily get to public transport, the city is your oyster.
- Are you a creative couple? Stay in Shoreditch or Hackney in East London for arty and designer vibes.
- Are you a glamorous couple? Stay in central at a swanky modern hotel with a fabulous view over the River Thames.
- Are you a musical theatre couple? You’re best off staying in the West End, so you can watch all the theatre shows you want to.
- Are you a foodie couple? Stay somewhere central, like in Soho or Southwark, so you can hit up food markets and restaurants around the city!
Each borough is unique – and choosing the right hotel is crucial for a memorable holiday in London.
Key things to think about before booking your hotel are location, ambiance, amenities, and cost. You’ll want a hotel that is centrally located, with interiors that match your style and the right amenities to enhance your stay. And of course, it’s important to find a hotel that offers value for your money.
Make sure you read the reviews before booking, too, in case you have any deal breakers.
Best Hotels In London For Young Couples: Bougie, Boutique & Budget
BOUGIE | Best for… Rooftop Pool and Terrace
Price: from approximately £230 per night.
This trendy 5-star East London hotel is nestled in the buzzing heart of Shoreditch. Refined and stylish, the Mondrian rooms might be cosy, but they are impeccably decorated, meaning you’ll feel like you’re living in your own design-led apartment like a local.
They have a stunning rooftop bar and pool with gorgeous views of East London. There’s a great bar with a sustainable ethos around sourcing their drinks, and they source locally where possible to minimise their carbon footprint.
I absolutely loved staying here – the breakfast pancakes were amazing, and the evening terrace view was jaw-dropping.
BOUGIE | Best for… Trendy Design Vibes
Price: from approximately £300 per night.
I absolutely love The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch. It’s chic, stylish, and in the heart of the action – the perfect hotel for young couples to stay at!
There’s an artsy but unpretentious vibe, and the rooms are trendy and curated to make your stay a good’un. The Hoxton Shoreditch is my one of favourite places in London to spend the day co-working or remote working, because they have strong wifi and their coffees and drinks are great, as is their food.
Shoreditch is home to some of the best hotels in London for young couples because there are so many buzzy food joints, pubs, clubs restaurants, boutique shops and artsy areas to explore – including Boxpark, Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market, and Columbia Road Flower Market in Hoxton.
If you’re after a more central location, check out The Hoxton Holborn – it’s near all the theatre shows and places like Covent Garden. Proper central!
BOUTIQUE | Best for… That Local ‘Made In Chelsea’ Feel:
Price: from approximately £185 per night.
Aragon House is a fabulous boutique hotel with beautifully decorated interiors, plush rooms, and an excellent restaurant tucked away in Parson’s Green, a quiet residential part of Hammersmith and Fulham.
The hotel is within a historical Grade-II listed structure with exposed brickwork, cosy fireplaces, and a classic bar that oozes with character. Aragon House is a cute hotel for a young couple because it has a charming feel about it – like a ‘proper British hotel’.
The Sunday Roasts at the restaurant are amazing. There are plenty of great brunch spots, bars and pubs near Aragon House within walking distance.
Jump on the District Line from Parsons Green tube and you’ll be at Westminster within 25 minutes. After roaming everywhere from Big Ben to the London Eye to South Bank to Covent Garden, you can wind down back in your hotel in a leafy part of west London.

BOUGIE | Best for… Amazing Food and a Heated Pool
Price: from approximately £395 per night.
The Pan Pacific London is a fantastic luxury hotel in Houndsditch, near Liverpool Street Station. I had the best staycation here!
The Pan Pacific London stylishly blends British design with Asian minimalism. Every aspect of the hotel is calming, graceful, and evokes Singaporean luxury. The bed was plush and comfy, and rooms have gorgeous views of the city.
In my opinion it’s one of the best hotels in London. The vibe is slightly more mature and refined, but there were plenty of young couples around.
The pool area is heated, and filled with plants, so it feels like you’re in the tropical humidity of Singapore. The food is sensational. The breakfast buffet had Asian and western options (wonton soup for breakfast, anyone?) and the afternoon tea at The Orchid Lounge was incredible.
This is a great location if you’re planning to venture to East London, Spitalfields Market, or get into central London, since there are so many transport options nearby.
BOUTIQUE | Best for… An Unfussy, Ultra-Modern Stay
Price: from approximately £160 per night.
Only 10 minutes from the central London, CitizenM Bankside is ideal for a young couple with tech-savvy wanderlust.
CitizenM creates a high-tech, fun-fuelled experience for young travellers. I’ve stayed in CitizenM before – it’s well-decorated and ultra-modern – plus all electronics in your room are controlled by an iPad, so no need to get up to close curtains. You can stream from Spotify and change to mood-lighting with a single tap.
The rooms, while small, are clean, with a large comfortable bed, TV, and a pod/capsule style bathroom. Communal areas are packed with character and super relaxed, plus there’s lots of choice for breakfast and drinks. This is a great hotel in London for young couples to have a fuss-free trip.
BOUTIQUE | Best for… Edgy, Eclectic Energy
Price: from approximately £120 per night.
The cheeky boutique hotel Mama Shelter, based in Hoxton, is all about trendy rooms, bold colour, and a quirky informality that makes you feel right at home. It’s great for a trendy young couple looking to explore a slice of London away from the glossy city centre.
I’m absolutely obsessed with Mama Shelter’s lobby, bar and restaurant area. It’s a great place if you need to remote work, or want to have cocktails, or just people-watch, since there’s a big creative community in Hackney. There’s even a couple of arcade game machines out front!
There’s brilliant cocktail selection at the bar (with plenty of non-alcoholic options too, if that’s more your lane). Mama Shelter is right next to an amazing brunch spot called Ozone, a ‘viral’ bakery called Greedy Cow, and it’s only a 10-minute walk from Broadway Market, London Fields, and Hackney Canal.
Not to mention Victoria Park – so romantique!
Leman Locke (Bermondsey or Aldgate)
BOUTIQUE | Best for… Creative Community Vibes
Price: from approximately £170 per night.
Leman Locke is a design-led aparthotel for free-thinkers who want a unique, authentic experience when travelling London. It’s perfect for young couples!
Leman Locke is ‘anti-shoebox’ – as in, they make sure they give you an inspiring room to rest and provide you with socially immersive creative spaces, so you feel more plugged into the city. You can stay in a studio, a one-bed, or a suite.
I absolutely love working at Shaman (the coworking café in Bermonds Locke) when I need a beautifully designed space to get inspired by. It’s a 5-minute walk from Tower Bridge.
If you stay in the Aldgate branch, you’ll be within minutes of London’s most lively creative areas (Shoreditch, Hoxton and Hackney), where you can get a mix of culture, art and fashion from shops, stalls, boutiques, galleries, and markets all around.
BUDGET | Best for… Quirky Affordability:
Price: from approximately £165 per night.
I love the Ibis Styles range of economy hotels – they’re always stylish, quirky, and very clean.
I’ve stayed in the Ealing branch quite a few times, and heard brilliant things about the Ibis Styles Southwark. This affordable hotel is modern, with a retro West End vintage glamour them and design. The rooms are clean, functional, tidy, and quiet.
The breakfast buffet is cold, but it is included in your booking – plenty of breakfast and brunch options nearby though!
The location is excellent – you’re a few minutes from London Bridge Station and Borough Market. The Tate Modern and Globe Theatre are only 3 minutes away on foot.
BUDGET | Best for… Bold On A Budget
Trendy, unpretentious hotel offering a living room-style lobby and a bright bar serving local fare.
Price: from approximately £82 per night.
With rooms that are clean, comfortable, and modern, The Corner Hotel is located in the creative and cultural area of Whitechapel – it’s just a 20-minute stroll to the iconic Tower Bridge and London Bridge Station, the perfect base for exploring the rest of London.
Communal areas are bright, fun and vibrant. The room designs are quirky, and more interestingly designed than a Premier Inn. There are decent breakfast and dinner options too – though from memory, the area can be a little sketchy at night, so do keep your wits about you!
Best Hotels In London: 5 Tips for Getting Good Hotel Deals In London
Affordability often gets in the way of spontaneous romance – but don’t worry, there are ways to make it work! Here are my top tips for booking a great hotel on a budget.
- Be flexible with dates – Sometimes, being willing to travel mid-week or during off-peak season can save you money on accommodation and activities.
- Look beyond hotels – Consider alternative accommodations such as hostels, Airbnb, or house sitting options to save on costs.
- Take advantage of free activities – Many of London’s top attractions, such as museums and parks, offer free admission. Take advantage of these to save on entertainment costs.
- Invest in a travel pass – If you plan on using public transportation frequently, consider purchasing a travel pass for unlimited rides at a discounted price.
- Pack light – Avoid baggage fees by packing light and only bringing essential items for your trip. This will also make it easier to navigate the city and save on transportation costs.
What’s The #1 Best Hotel In London For Young Couples?
Ultimately, it depends on your budget! If you’re going bougie, I’d recommend The Hoxton Shoreditch. If you want a boutique experience that’s far away from the madding crowds, check out Aragon House. If you’re on a budget, then you’ll be happy enough in a Premier Inn. In my opinion, these are the best hotels for young couples needing a reliable and positive experience on their London getaways. Travel safe!
