Tucked away near the bustle of Liverpool Street is the Pan Pacific London Hotel – a chic urban sanctuary inspired by the East.

I recently had a weekend staycation at Pan Pacific London with my good friend Venus.

As a stressy Londoner who commutes into central on a daily basis, I felt so relaxed and nourished after our stay. The food (and spa facilities) are amazing!

If you don’t have time to read this, my recommendation is to go ahead and book your stay at Pan Pacific London.

Where Luxury Amenities Meet Singaporean Charm

Just a stone’s throw away from one of the UK’s busiest stations sits Pan Pacific London, a Singapore-inspired luxury haven with a thermal pool and chic decor.

The architecture is elegant, the ambience welcoming. From the moment we checked in, I observed how serene the hotel was and how courteous its staff were.

Deluxe City View Room at the Pan Pacific London Hotel

Pan Pacific London Hotel: Deluxe City View Room Review

One of the highlights of our stay was the deluxe city view room, which had an impressive vista of the Gherkin and London’s sprawling cityscape from its floor-to-ceiling windows.

Furniture was trendy yet practical.

Hero piece? A king-sized bed with premium linens and beautifully cushy pillows.

We streamed soft jazz from the TV and finished off some work in the room, enjoying the views, working from from the coffee table and sofa. Our room didn’t have a desk, which it could have benefitted from, but if you’re there to chillax, it’s not a problem.

The room’s pièce de résistance is definitely the panorama of London you can see outside the window. We ordered in some food to the room for our first night and I loved watching the buildings light up as evening fell across the city.

Our relaxing, beautifully tiled marble bathroom at Pan Pacific Hotel London

Bathroom and Shower

The bathroom was spa-like, with vertical tiling and a monochrome palette that made it a zen little haven to breathe deep in.

There was a separate bathtub and waterfall shower for a refreshing start or end to the day. The best bit was the toiletries – Pan Pacific London Hotel gives guests a range of divine Dipytique goodies, from body lotion to shower gel.

Taking a Dip: The Pool & Spa

One of my favourite areas in the Pan Pacific London Hotel was the swimming pool.

Heated to perfection and reminiscent of the tropical climes of Singapore, I loved the way the humid pool area gave us an escape from London’s chilly drizzle.

Lush plants lined one wall, plus there were jugs of water and fluffy towels on tap — a thoughtful touch for people hanging out all day.

The hotel’s spa facilities were lush, including a sauna and steam room. The fluffy robes and swimsuit dryer added an extra touch of luxury to our spa experience.

Variety and Quality of Food Options

Dining options and the breakfast buffet at the Pan Pacific London were glorious.

My favourite meal was actually breakfast!

The breakfast was an impressive spread of both Asian and Western dishes, with highlights being the wonton noodle soup, congee and kaya toast. It’s been so long since I’ve had an Asian breakfast in London – tasted authentic too.

Afternoon Tea at the Orchid Lounge, Pan Pacific Hotel London

Dim-sum afternoon tea at the Orchid Lounge

The Orchid Lounge Afternoon Tea Review

The afternoon tea experience at The Orchid Lounge is exceptional. Afternoon tea is served with dim-sum here. Yes, dim-sum!

The setting was serene, the service faultless, and the overall vibe is chic yet unpretentious.

I loved the blend of Asian and British, from classic scones with their perfect texture, paired with clotted cream and strawberry jam, to sandwiches like the smoked salmon with chive crème fraîche, to dim-sum like siu mai and pork buns.

We each had a glass of champagne and I chose a white jasmine tea blend and then an oolong blend from their extensive tea collection.

Desserts at The Orchid Lounge

The desserts were a standout. The Vanilla Choux with Raspberry Jelly combines the tartness of raspberry and the soothing notes of vanilla in perfect harmony. I’m a sucker for yuzu so I loved their Yuzu Meringue Tart, with the sharpness of yuzu expertly balanced by the subtle sweetness of the meringue.

Our afternoon tea at The Orchid Lounge was so good that I now recommend it as an afternoon tea spot to almost everyone!

Nearby Attractions and Accessibility

Proximity to the City Centre and Transport Links

Right by Liverpool Street, the Pan Pacific is within walking distance of major attractions – ideal for a London staycation. There’s easy access to public transport, so getting around and exploring is a breeze.

Just a 15-minute stroll away is Spitalfields Market, which leads onto Shoreditch. East London is a hyper-creative area known for its buzzy food joints, pubs, clubs, restaurants, boutique shops and artsy areas to explore – including Boxpark, Brick Lane, and Columbia Road Flower Market in Hoxton.

London Bridge is nearby too – a hotspot for food (Borough Market) and culture (Shakespeare’s Globe, among others), with great views along the River Thames.
