Best things to do in Santorini in July

The whitewashed island of Santorini is perhaps best-known as a honeymoon paradise, but it truly has something to offer every type of holidaymaker.

July is the perfect month to experience Santorini, whether you’re exploring by foot or bike, swimming at one of the many beaches, tasting local delights, or enjoying the scenery.

The weather in the summer months is ideal for spending time outdoors and enjoying all the natural delights the island has to offer.

Whether you’re after a relaxing or active vacation, Santorini has something for everyone. Here, we give you a few things to inspire your itinerary.

Food and wine

If you’re looking for some delicious food while you’re on your holiday, you won’t be disappointed. The island is known for its seafood, and you can find some great restaurants serving up fresh fish and seafood dishes. For a real treat, The Cave of Nikolas is a farm-to-table style restaurant by the ocean, known for serving up family seafood classics. You can’t get much fresher than that!

There are also plenty of restaurants serving traditional Greek dishes, as well as international cuisine. And of course, no trip to Santorini is complete without trying the local wine. There are several wineries on the island that offer tastings, so you can sample some of the best vintages that Greece has to offer.

Beaches

The beaches in Santorini are some of the most beautiful in the world. The white sand and clear blue water are a perfect backdrop for a day in the sun. There are many amazing beaches in Santorini, whether you want to find a quiet spot to relax or join in on the party scene.

If you’re looking for a place to relax and soak up the sun, then head to one of Santorini’s many secluded beaches. Koloumbos Beach is a great option if you want to avoid the crowds, and it has plenty of shade. Pack your snorkelling gear and a tasty picnic for the perfect day out. Red Beach is also a must-visit, and it gets its name from the striking colour of the red cliffs that surround it. This beach is a bit more popular, but still offers plenty of space to find your own private spot.

If you’re looking for a party scene, then you’ll want to head to Kamari Beach. This is the most popular beach on the island, and it’s always buzzing with activity. There are plenty of bars and restaurants lining the shore, so you can drink and dance the night away.

Caldera tour

If you are looking for a breathtaking experience, consider taking a trip to Santorini Caldera. This tour offers visitors the opportunity to see the beauty of the caldera from up close. You will also have the chance to explore some of the smaller, lesser-known islands that make up the Santorini group.

There are a couple of options for visiting the caldera – boat or a walking tour. One of the best things about this hike is that it is available for all skill levels, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker, there is a tour for you. If you’d rather take a more leisurely visit, then grab a spot on a boat tour to see the caldera from the water.

In my opinion, Greece is always a good idea. Santorini, also known as Thira, is always thrumming with life, full of beautiful experiences and sunsets waiting to be admired.

Although it can get pricey during the summer season, there’s a reason why people flock to this gorgeous whitewashed Cyclades island in the Aegean Sea.

Whether you’re flying solo, on a romantic getaway, frolicking with friends or taking a breather with family, you can count on Santorini for a magical experience.
